How We Walk in Tampa

This small book tries to document the results of a six month experiment with walking as a social practice, and argue for the "legitimacy" to this kind of work. It began with several collaborators from roving walking workshops, and was then activated intensely by a group of former students, as their work together was beginning to extend beyond the spatial, institutional and temporal limits of a class.  The book consisted of 8 double-spaced “maps”, folded in a small box. It documented our attempts at developing an extended, cooperative, extradisciplinary seminar (or something like it), a series of low-key durational walking experiments conducted in Tampa, as well as several exhibition projects. It also contained a series of walks/talks.  First two and last two pages available  HERE , full book can be downloaded from www.commonplacesproject.org
